A Lifesaving Coincidence
March 2, 2020
Jeff Behling was in the right place at the right time to save a life.
When Jeff was spending some time at a local junkyard looking for auto parts on a day off from work as an EMT, the last thing he expected was to have his medical knowledge put to the test. However, when he heard a loud noise followed by screaming, he jumped straight into action without a second thought.
An exhaust manifold had fallen onto another man, resulting in a large gash on his hand. Jeff quickly assessed the patient, and based on his color, he determined that the injury was serious. He directed people nearby to call 911 while he held pressure to the wound and kept the man alert and calm until help arrived.
Jeff said that he feels that he was lucky to be there for that man on that day, since it was mere coincidence that allowed him to help save his life.
