A Patient's Family

May 23, 2019

Robin Kneer, a flight nurse, made sure to handle a tough situation with respect.

Last October, Robin Kneer was dispatched as a flight nurse for AirMed to transport a terminally ill patient and his family to Columbus, Ohio so that he could be there one last time with his loved ones. Unfortunately, during the flight the patient's condition deteriorated, and Robin and her team could not help him because his and his wife's wishes were for him to pass away peacefully without intervention. Robin allowed his wife to have her final moments with him, and then for the remaining two hours of the flight after he passed she treated him and his wife with respect and dignity, making sure that they still made it to their destination as he would have wanted. Robin credits GMR with having "the resources, the manpower and the equipment to respond at a moment's notice anywhere in the world at any time," and she says that she is "up for any challenge."
