When a Pandemic Strikes
April 11, 2020
GMR teams head to the front lines to provide care to COVID-19 patients in need.
In early 2020, our teams began responding to the COVID-19 pandemic in communities across the country. Global Medical Response teams starting with AMR, our ground division, were among the first to respond in King County, WA, and Los Angeles County, CA, when the initial instances occurred in the United States. Because of AMR's contract with FEMA, our teams deployed ambulances and EMS personnel to the greater New York area in late March. By early April, additional teams headed to New York and New Jersey to provide EMS support in these communities. Our EMTs, paramedics, nurses, pilots and support teams continue to tirelessly work at home and on deployments to provide care at a moment's notice.
